Kuro is a premium small batch gin which was born from a love of gin, a friendship and an amazing ski trip in the Hakuba Valley region of Japan. The aim when creating this gin was to bottle up the experience they had into a premium gin and bring it to the UK for all lovers of the liquid to experience and enjoy.
Distilled in the well-known Langley Distillery, Kuro is distilled in a 300 litre copper still working closely with the master distiller Rob Dorsett to prefect the recipe. Alongside Rob and the Langley distillery, with almost 100 years of distilling, the 12 Japanese style botanicals really capture what the creators wanted from this gin.
The 12 botanicals include Silver Birch Bark, Bamboo, Spruce Needles, Juniper Berries, Angelica, Coriander, Lemon, Orange, Liquorice, Orris, Cinnamon and Nutmeg. The most recognisable botanicals which help to give this gin its uniqueness comes from the Silver Birch Bark, Spruce Needles and most importantly the Bamboo activated Charcoal. The latter being the botanical which gives this gin its name, Kuro, which directly translates to ‘black’ in Japanese.
Enjoy this gin alongside a premium tonic, a sprig of mint and some ginger.
