Description

In 1761, Thomas Dakin began distilling gin, in Warrington, at the start of the industrial revolution.

He was only 25 years old.

He pioneered the development and refinement of high quality English gin.

Thus this local gin, takes its’ name.

What makes the local story somewhat special is the connection, and lineage, through from Thomas Dakin, then to the Greenalls family, then back to the Thomas Dakin Small Batch gin created in 2015.

This is a hand crafted, juniper led, gin created using neutral grain spirit and the finest botanicals.

The recipe reamins a secret, but the distiller uses eleven botanicals in total, which include:

juniper, English corriander seeds, orange peel, grapefruit, cubeb, liquorice root and angelica.

Of interest is the plans that the team have to build a distillery, here in the heart of Manchester.

For a ”Tom and tonic,” as we now know it, use a premium tonic and add a coriander and orange garnish.

This is also great in a Negroni, too!
