Description

Based in Skiddaw, Langtons work hard to capture the spirit of the glorious Lake District, in their drinks.

Langtons was created by two Lakeland locals, Nick Dymoke-Marr and Tim Moor, in late 2012. Approximately the same time that we at Atlas Bar, started out on our gin journey.

Juniper is definitely present, but this gin has softer floral notes, too.

Eleven botanicals are used to create this gin, which includes Lakeland District Oak Bark, liquorice, lemon and orange peels.

Equally, pure Lakeland spring water, gives this gin its’ clear and pure quality.

The catalyst for the team to produce Langtons Gin, was the discovery of an aquifer, that sits beneath Skiddaw mountain and Derwent Water.

The water is up to a million years old, and has filtered through slate that is four hundred and fifty years old.

The inspiration for the bottle, comes from that Lakeland slate, and is depicted by the contour linings. One extra contour line was added to depict the summit of Skiddaw mountain.

After steeping the botanicals in grain spirit, the gin is distilled using a traditional copper pot method, at the G&J Greenalls distillery, in Warrington.

Lyth Valley Damsons, give this gin liqueur a rich jam-like profile, which bursts with fruity notes.

Enjoy neat, warmed, or over ice, or alternatively with a premium tonic, lemonade or ginger ale for a twist.
