Description
Bluecoat is distilled five times in a custom-built, hand-hammered copper pot still and is named after the uniforms worn by the militia in the American Revolution.
The recipe of botanicals is a well kept secret!
All gins begin with juniper berries and Bluecoat is no exception to that rule. However, Bluecoat exclusively utilizes organic juniper berries which transmit spicy, earthy notes as opposed to the pungent pine-tree flavours of regular berries.
Such is the success of this brand, they are moving to a brand new, bigger, distillery, in September 2016, in Philadelphia.
Launched in 2006, this is a very citrus forward gin.
This gin is made in a true batch distillation process, which calls for the pot to be heated slowly, which allows for the maximum seperation of the alcohols.
Taking ten hours to distill, only the heart of the run is used to create this gin. This contains the purest flavour.
We suggest an orange garnish, with Bluecoat, which really pulls out the rich citrus notes.
