This award winning gin, from Germany, contains some unusual ingredients, from Africa, like Devils Claw and African Wormwood!
What is equally interesting though, is that gin truly does support a worthwhile cause.
15% of all profits, go to two Elephant foundations, that help to support the preservation of the species. These are the Big Life Foundation and Space for Elephants Foundation.
German quality with African ingredients, all hand crafted, bottles custom made, labels hand written and production managed to support sustainability.
Inspiration for the gin, came after a day out in the South African Bush, where drinking cocktails, at sunset, is somewhat of a tradition. These cocktails invariably include G&T’s.
The owners realised that by adding unusual African botanicals to tradition gin botanicals, you would create and unusual gin.
There are 14 botanicals in Elephant Gin from over the globe:
South African Buchu, Devils Claw and African Wormwood, Baobab from Malawi, German Apples, Macedonian Juniper, Chinese Ginger, Austrian Mountain Pine, Spanish Orange Peel and Mexican Pimento.
These create a beautifully herbaceous gin, which is distilled near Hamburg, in a one shot London Dry process.
Perfect in a G&T with a lemon garnish, or add some rosemary to pull out the fresh pine notes.
