Description
So Atlas’ team often debates their gin favourites, and Jinzu is most certainly Oliver Merrits!
It was created by Bristol bartender, Dee Davies, and was created for the Diageo’s ‘Show your Spirit’ competition.
Jinzu went on to win, overall!
Scottish gin, from Cameronbridge, is distilled with Sake.
The flavours include:
juniper, coriander seeds, cherry blossom and yuzu lemon.
Jinzu is named after the river, of the same name, which runs through the prefecture of Toyama, on the Japanese coast.
Why the Japanese link? Well Dee visited there, when she was 16, and gained a love for the country.
Most definitely not a traditional gin, although the juniper is present, this can be enjoyed neat to experience the full flavour profile, or diluted with soda or tonic.
A green apple garnish, is lovely.
