Description
The Sipsmith Team opened the doors on their distillery back in 2009, on Nasmyth Street, in London.
No-one, at that point, had done this for nearly 200 years. Needless to say the team were excited.
Their now famous copper still, is called Prudence, and she was made by the German distillery producer Christian Carl. They have been crafting stills since 1869.
Prudence has a carter head, and a column still, which makes her extremely versatile.
Of interest on the Sipsmith branding is the swan motif. This makes reference to the ”swan’s neck” pipe, where the spirit vapour turns above the still. It is therefore a representation of Prudence, who is at the heart of everything the Sipsmith team do.
Sipsmith London Dry is made with ten carefully selected botanicals, from across the globe. They are:
Macedonian juniper, Bulgarian coriander, seed, French angelica root, Spanish liquorice root, Italian orris root, Spanish ground almond, Chinese cassia bark, Madagascan cinnamon, Sevillian orange peel and Spanish lemon peel.
Deservedly so, this is a multi-award winning London Dry.
The perfect serve would be with a premium tonic and lime garnish.
